The month of April was of course when everything was due;
internship paper/poster, final entrepreneurship presentations (2 in 3 days),
and poster presentations. To add to my
stress level I had to make an emergency trip home to check on my daddy….FAMILY
FIRST. Got my poster finished and sent
to the printers, then noticed that I had some MAJOR typos…4 revisions and $96
later I finally got it right. English is
not my strongest subject, so I wanted someone else to look over my final paper,
but it was done in time and I ended up proof reading it myself. Five revisions later and it was ready to turn
in. A week before entrepreneurship
presentations, and we are still putting the finishing touches on our
company…two days before and we are still working in it #icantdeal. The day of presentations for the class
and…..we do an awesome job…time to #turnup…just a little bit…lol. Now we have less than 48 hours to fix and
trim the presentation for some of our business professors/judges…#turndown. Presentation day 2 and we do another awesome
job. Poster presentations for internship projects and the only thing many of us
could think about is the beach trip we’re taking in a few days. After 3 hours of saying the same thing over
and over again, presentations were done and for the most part so was our grad
school careers. BEACH TRIP….OUTTER
BANKS…..BEACH HOUSE…POOL….HOT TUB….BEACH…..MINI GOLF…..ALCOHOL….5 DAYS….TOO
MUCH FUN!!!! #turndownforwhat
The day before graduations and my parents are on the way….I’m
curling my hair, add I get a phone call from them only to find that they got
off in the wrong exit. So we all have to
get dress at my house and rush off to the awards dinner….and we’re late (though
I heard we missed the boring part). We
got there just in time for my shinning moment.
We really impressed the judges during the second presentations because
we won the award for the best science based project for that round of
presentations. I set my alarm for 5am to
beat the traffic and ended up at 3am #excited.
Dressed, face on, cap, gown, tassels, and metal in hand and out the
door. No traffic, but I spent 15 minutes
auguring with the lady at the gate that “I’m a graduate and I don’t have to pay
for parking…yall already have enough of my money”. Eventually she lets me in and I take my track
in the heat to line up. 45 mins in that
room….another 15 standing in line outside waiting to walk to the lawn to listen
to somebody talk about something that I don’t remember. Then we transitioned over to a second area
for our degree presentation….and that degree is huge….can’t photocopy that and
send it out…plus its in Latin….good thing it came with a translation…lol….and
the rest of my day looked like
this….EAT…SLEEP….TURNUP….SLEEP
Now the job search begins!!!! Still selling Mary Kay….FB me
to book your party!!!!!
I love this post. This was definitely life as a graduate.
