Prayed Up

I'm gonna keep this VERY short and simple....

Keep those affected by the tornados in Oklahoma/Texas in your prayers.  Those in a position to give, do so (money and clothes).  Through a party and ask your guest to bring a canned good, old clothes, or money.  Party with a purpose, but if prayer is all you have then send up as many of those as you can.

Be careful of what charities your give to.  I suggest the Red Cross and Salvation Army.

Beautiful Image

I ran across this image and it's just beautiful. It speaks for itself.

Know Your Colors

Color themes for parties are usually one of the first choices any event planner thinks of. Usually, if done right, it can evoke certain feelings and emotions, setting the mood for the upcoming celebration. Today, I decided to write on colors and how some colors can really change a mood of an event!

Warm Colors: Red, Orange, Yellow

If you want your event to be remembered, warm colors are the way to go! These colors are associated with energy, passion, and enthusiasm. These colors carry out invoking intimacy, and although bright, they can make an event feel comfortable and alive. Shades of each color can also affect the overall mood. With red, a brighter shade can invoke a feeling of cheerful energy, while a darker shade can be reminiscent of power and elegance. The color yellow could change based on its shade as well. A bright yellow can invoke feelings of joy and optimism, while a softer more pastel yellow can have a calming effect.

Cool Colors: Green, Blue, Purple

These colors are great if you want a bit more subtlety in your color theme. For the color green, it signifies renewal and abundance, and is generally associated with nature.  If you’re looking for a natural type of color theme, Green is the color to use. Darker shades like our hunter or sage can give you a natural feeling, while our Apple Green can give you a vibrant fresh feeling. The color blue is often used for a calming effect. Darker shades like our navy could be energizing and refreshing. The color purple has a history of being associated with royalty. Often it will invoke feelings of creativity and imagination. Colors like our eggplant and burgundy can give a feeling of sophistication and class, while lighter colors like our lavender can represent romance and playfulness.

Neutral Colors: Black, White, Brown, Ivory

Neutral colors can most often make great color themes with mostly any colors. As for symbolism, the color black gives a feeling of sophistication and power, while the color white symbolizes purity innocence and tranquility. They contrast well with each other as well as other colors.  Browns, Beige and Ivory can be perceived as either warm or cool depending on the colors that are next to it. They generally go with most colors, and could invoke a feeling of nature, or sophistication depending on its uses with other colors.
